KoAloha Ukuleles are AMAZING! They have a big, bold sound with the punchiness and fullness you want from a Koa ukulele with the added benefit of the Mango to bring out the warm rich tones of the lower register. These ukuleles have a pleasing even tone. And the alternating koa and mango top and sides makes it a striking looking ukulele as well!
The has the classic soprano body style with the long neck of a concert! If you want the tone of the soprano but need/want the scale length of a concert, then this ukulele is for you. The long neck sopranos also give you more frets to the body (14 frets to the body)!
The Naupaka Legend from the KoAloha Site:
“There is a Hawaiian legend that tells of two lovers with an unbreakable bond, but who are destined to be apart. KoAloha’s interpretation tells a more joyful story. Our Naupaka model unites the unlikely couple of Koa and Mango to create an ukulele with a truly unique aesthetic and tone.
Naupaka ukulele are available in the basic sizes of Soprano, Concert, and Tenor. In this version of the story, Koa is used on the bass side to enhance the richness of tone, while Mango is used on the treble side to compliment with sweetness and a higher register.
Although the legend tells of two separated lovers, we will continue to tell our tale through different combinations of wood. Stay tuned for the next story…”
