Kamaka has been making ukuleles in Hawaii for over 100 years!
They are the classic Hawaiian ukulele. Made with the traditional Koa wood, these instruments are the sound of Hawaii. Clear, distinct, punchy, woody, and lightweight, these ukuleles have great projection and sustain. Each cut of koa is its own individual work of art, so I take individual pictures of each instrument so you can pick out the one that speaks to you!
8 Strings are like the 12 string guirar of the ukulele world. With the octave G and C and the unison E and A, it is as if you are playing with a chorus of ukuleles!
All Kamaka Ukuleles come with a Kamaka hard case and Oasis humidifier. I also give each ukulele a thorough inspection, which includes making sure your frets are perfectly level and that the action is adjusted for your needs. I am known for my set-up and I make sure each ukulele is properly setup for easy and buzz-free playability.
TENOR 8-STRING (HF-38)
The 8-string has all four strings doubled, with the third and fourth pair tuned in octaves. Played with standard ukulele tuning and fingering, the sound is rich and unique. The paired strings are played together like a 12-string guitar.
Also known as "the Liliu VIII," the Tenor 8-String was designed by Sam Kamaka Jr. in 1976 to commemorate the Bicentennial of the United States.
