This is a prototype that was released to me from Ohana. It was made to be a prototype for possible future distribution. I think they decided to go in a different direction so they released the prototypes to me to sell to my customers. This one has very few in existence, so it will be rare! The Koa is select Koa, and they always pick out some of the prettiest cuts of Koa for prototypes, so all these are stunners! It is a lovely ukulele with a unique version of a slotted headstock!
Koa is the classic Hawaiian tonewood. It is punchy, warm, and full with a nice woody classic tone. Ohana Koa ukuleles have a lot of resonance and projection. The matte finish means nothing comes between the volume and tone. So matte ukes have a harder hit, more volume, and a lot of punch! But it also is warm, full, and resonant. Everything you want in an ukulele! It has a beautiful abalone rosette. It is a gorgeous looking ukulele and you will have a very unique ukulele!
