This is a heavily discounted Kelii ukulele that has sat on my repair shelf for years! So it has been kept perfectly temperature and humidity controlled. But it got forgotten about. It needed new strings. And also when I got it the top had settled into some dipping that made me uncomfortable and I wanted to make sure it didnt get any worse. Well, it didnt. It is not overly braced so it just settled that way. But I am selling it for less than I got it for by far because it is time to move this baby along! So take a look at the side pictures. It still isnt the best pictures, but it might give you some idea of what I am talking about.
Kelii are well made. The silver models have a Koa top and mahogany back and sides to make it a more affordable model. It was made in Hawaii at the time I stocked this one, so it has that very traditional feel and make. The finish is a nice open pore finish, so it is not so overworked that it loses its tone. I also set it up with Worth Brown strings. It really sings and has that bold Koa attack with nice rich and low resonant undertones.
It has a wide nut so is a great choice for people with bigger hands who want a lot of room around the fretboard.
